The sauna area of the Südpfalz Therme combines regional design with soothing warmth and ample space for relaxation. Across over 1,500 m², five different themed saunas, spacious cooling areas, and lovingly designed relaxation zones create a diverse wellness world. Seasonal infusions with essential oils provide special moments.
Please note: On Tuesdays, the sauna is reserved exclusively for ladies (except on public holidays and during the Christmas holidays).

Forest Sauna

The Palatinate Forest—the largest contiguous forest area in Germany—with its legendary castle ruins forms the backdrop for the largest infusion sauna at the Südpfalz Therme: A massive stone stove stands at the center, and the design evokes a cozy mountain lodge—a place to breathe deeply, warm up, and unwind.
Meadow Sauna

Enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the spa park with its expansive meadows and trees. Inspired by the teachings of Sebastian Kneipp, who used many native wild herbs in his therapies, the Meadow Sauna features pressed flowers, herbs, and grasses that release a delicate fragrance.

In the ambiance of a Palatinate wine cellar, this sauna presents the region from its most enjoyable side. The pleasant warmth and special atmosphere invite you to relax and perspire.
Rose Sauna / Ruusu® Sauna

A sensual sauna experience centered around the rose—enveloped in gentle warmth, natural fragrance, and the visual highlight of a stove clad in Rosa Porrino. Illuminated rose quartz stones enhance the harmonizing effect.

Named after the naturopath Tabernae Montanus, this steam bath combines high humidity, pleasant warmth, and nourishing peeling treatments—ideal for letting go in an elegant setting.

Diverse cooling options indoors and outdoors delight sauna enthusiasts. Whether at the ice fountain, in one of the plunge pools or deluge showers, at the Kneipp element, or simply strolling across the sauna deck—invigorate your circulation.
Relaxation Areas
Quiet. Relax.
Whether socializing on the sauna roof garden, in the rustic forest lounge, or comfortably in the fireplace lounge—everywhere you will find retreats for reading, resting, or simply unwinding and switching off. During the summer months, the roof garden invites you to sunbathe textile-free, and the sauna deck is perfect for relaxing.
Infusions and Events
The interplay of warmth, fragrance, and freshness makes the sauna experience special. Varied infusions with essential oils take place every half hour to hour—often with small extras.
Long Sauna Nights
Wellness until midnight
From October to April, always on the first Saturday of the month, the Südpfalz Therme opens for the Long Sauna Night. On this evening, you can enjoy extensive sauna sessions, textile-free bathing, and a special program with many extras. The sauna event begins at 6 PM and ends at midnight. From that time onward, the thermal spa is exclusively dedicated to textile-free bathing.
